Theo Maledon

Position:  PG/SG                From: France                       Class/YOB: 2001

Height: 6’4                        Weight: 192                        Wingspan:

  • Good size and excellent length for a guard. Very quick with the ball
  • High-IQ floor general. Maledon delivers the ball to his teammates on target. He really has a brilliant feel for the game as a passer, though it might not jump out at first glance. Despite having blurring speed in transition, he changes pace well to keep defenders off balance.
  • Shooting has become an asset. Shoots off of rotations or kicks. Maledon has a consistent gather on his pull-up that will complement his ability to drive by defenders with his hesitation
  • Sound defensive ability. Irritates ball-handlers with active hands and anticipation. Should be a good pick-and-roll defender
  • Plays with great composure and poise for a teenager

  • Still growing into his body. He’s not weak, but he could benefit from having more cushion to make it through a long NBA season
  •  Very young. He doesn’t play like it. The NBA is a different animal. Don’t expect him to come in and start from day one
  • Teams will try to force him to guard in the post to exploit his lack of strength
  • Shooting can be streaky at times
  • Needs to work on taking care of the ball, especially when making passes in traffic. Goes for no looks and tougher passing angles than is necessary
