Position: SF/PF | From: Tennessee | Class/YOB: Junior |
Height: 6’5 | Weight: 234 | Wingspan: 6’11 |
Strengths:
- Very physically strong player. He has tremendous upper body strength and a solid base. Had one of the higher free throw rates in the country
- High-energy, extra effort rebounder with a mean streak in the paint. Defends especially well due to his instincts and ability to stand up ball-handlers
- Reliable mid-range shooter that has developed more of a pull-up game over the last few seasons. With his physique, his touch from 12-17 feet will be key for his post-up game. His mid-post face-up game is a real weapon
- Sneaky explosiveness and good length (6-11 wingspan). Elevates very well off of two feet. Has the quickness to beat bigger players when he plays at the four spot
- Decisive interior passer. Showed off a lot of feel playing with multiple frontcourt players
Weaknesses:
- Outside jump shot is still not a real threat
- Doesn’t have the ball-handling ability to regularly play on the perimeter but lacks the traditional size to play on the inside. His plus wingspan will help
- Was in foul trouble for a large part of his career. Aggressiveness is a big selling point, but it also needs to be harnessed
- Despite his good feet in the post, he has a tendency to try to overpower opponents. Against grown men in the NBA, he will need to know how to balance finesse and power
