Ethan Happ

Position: PF/C From: Wisconsin Class/YOB: Senior
Height: 6’10 Weight: 237 Wingspan: N/A

Strengths:

  • Tremendous passer. May have the best vision of any post player in this draft. Makes plays on the move, in the post, and when facing the basket
  • Polished back-to-basket game in the post. Uses pivots, pump fakes, and spin moves to position himself for shots on the inside
  • An effective defender that moves his feet and makes it tough for opposing posts
  • Active rebounder that is difficult to keep off the glass

Weaknesses:

  • No jump shot and a horrendous foul shooter
  • Lack of agility and vertical explosion may limit his post game. His footwork is impressive, but he will need to work on getting his shots off quicker. He won’t just be able to back players down and shoot hooks
  • Struggled mightily with length when trying to make moves. Needs to get better scoring in pick-and-rolls
  • Have to wonder if his lack of athleticism will be a detriment defending the pick-and-rolls as well. He really competes in the post, but NBA guards will isolate him
