Deni Avdija

Position: SG/SF                 From: Israel                        Class/YOB: 2001

Height: 6’9                         Weight: 205                         Wingspan:

  • Stretches the floor with his shooting range. Nice release in catch-and-shoot situations. Quick trigger
  • Great size for a wing and a fluid run-and-jump athlete. Will take what the defense gives him, whether that be a post up against a smaller guard or isolate against a slower wing
  • Skilled ball-handler with a polished set of moves to beat defenders and expose closeouts. Can operate in pick-and-rolls like a guard, using his body to shield off defenders while he assesses the situation. Brings good passing instincts. Uses pull-back moves and stepbacks to create space
  • Competes on the defensive end to stay in front and contest shots
  • Cuts off of the ball with a purpose. Has a nice balance of spotting up for his threes and cutting for dunks and layups
  • Highly competitive player that has sky-high confidence in himself

  • Not that quick laterally when guarding the ball. Probably more suited to guard threes and fours than twos
  •  His attitude may rub some people the wrong way. He walks the line of confident and arrogant
  • His shot has not produced the results it should be given his touch and range. Needs to become more reliable from deep
  • May struggle beating guards off the bounce without screens early on in his career. He is big enough and skilled enough to figure out how to manufacture easy offense, but it might not be a seamless transition. Developing a more consistent mid-range pull-up will help
  • There is a chance he could play some four in the NBA. He will need to add strength to take the contact that could come with that
  • He has been a role player on his top team overseas. Adjusting to the physicality, length, and athleticism of the NBA will take time
