Cole Anthony

Position: PG                From: North Carolina                       Class/YOB: Freshman

Height: 6’3                         Weight: 190                         Wingspan:

  • Gifted scorer that creates space off the dribble regularly. Anthony separates from defenders with a wide array of stepbacks, sidesteps, and hesitation moves. Has some of the best footwork of any guard in the 2020 class
  • Explosive athlete with a terrific vertical leap. Brings solid upper body strength that he uses to absorb contact
  • One of the best point guard rebounders in recent history at the college level
  • Has shooting range well outside of NBA range. He requires attention from 24 feet with his ability to pull-up from deep
  • Good vision and playmaking feel. His decision making wavered throughout the year, but he is going to be valuable as a pick-and-roll playmaker with more repetitions
  • High character kid that is highly competitive. Dad was a long-time NBA player and analyst, so he will not be starstruck by the transition or lifestyle

  • Struggled with decision making for parts of the year. Anthony can try to force passes into gaps that aren’t there. Has to do a better job of letting the game come to him.
  • For such a tremendous athlete, he didn’t finish in the paint as well as I would expect. He was largely inefficient as a scorer for much of the season, especially after returning from injury
  • Has to stay in a fundamental defensive position more often. He has a tendency to over help and give the offense an advantage
  • Health is going to be a question for some teams after injuring his knee midway through the year. Knee injuries especially can lead to a cause of concern
