NBA Draft Spotlight: Juwan Morgan

Juwan Morgan took a backseat to Romeo Langford in his final year for Indiana. He was able to show enough with his opportunities to give himself a shot to find a role with a team in the next draft.

Position: PF From: Indiana Class/YOB: Senior
Height: 6’8 Weight: 230 Wingspan: N/A

Strengths:

  • Gets off the ground quickly. Leads to a lot of second chances and rebound opportunities
  • A multi-positional defender that should be able to guard some wings with his athletic ability. Really more of a combo forward than true four, so that interchangeability will be an asset for him
  • Active offensive rebounder that goes and gets misses off the backboard
  • Can take slower defenders off the dribble from the perimeter. Handles the ball better than most fours

Weaknesses:

  • Increased his volume, but is still not a good outside shooter. Does a lot of damage in the paint when he gets the chance
  • I think he could get more cut and in better shape to maximize his athletic gifts
  • Can handle the ball against bigs, but isn’t a guy you can give the ball to on the wing and tell him to go get you a bucket
  • Prone to foul trouble and lazy defensive possessions
