Kellan Grady was a little less efficient in his sophomore season following a big freshman year at Davidson. There is some speculation that he will remain in the draft, where he could be a second-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Position: SG/PG | From: Davidson | Class/YOB: Sophomore |
Height: 6’5 | Weight: 195 | Wingspan: N/A |
Strengths:
- Score-first guard that can create his own shot. He is a true three-tier scorer
- Savvy finisher in the paint. Puts shots high up on the glass to avoid shot-blockers and hits short pull-ups when necessary
- Very natural setup from behind the arc. Gets feet set quickly to expedite his shooting motion. Had a down year from three, but he should be a plus NBA shooter
- Has good size as a combo guard
- High-IQ player
Weaknesses:
- Not an athlete with a lot of burst off the dribble. He has a solid first step, but not the best elevation around the basket
- Just an average defensive presence
- As a combo guard, he has some room for improvement as a facilitator. Much more of a shot-maker than passer
- Has skinny legs and doesn’t play through contact often
