Greek stretch four Vasilis Charalampopoulos has not announced intentions to enter the 2019 NBA Draft, but in a class largely watered down from an international standpoint, now might be a good time for a player who has been on NBA radars for a while.
Position: SF/PF | From: Greece | Class/YOB: 1997 |
Height: 6’9 | Weight: 235 | Wingspan: N/A |
Strengths:
- Knockdown outside shooter who stretches the floor at his position
- Good size for a combo forward. Has continued to add strength and has a frame that should respond well to more training
- Capable of penetrating with either hand and finding his pull-up against slower opponents
- Has played a consistent role player in a very competitive Greek league
Weaknesses:
- Underwhelming athlete. First step is slow and foot speed guarding the ball is not ideal
- True tweener that may have to be a four in the NBA due to his lack of mobility
- Cannot really handle the ball for more than a couple dribbles against pressure. Will take slower bigs outside, but not going to be getting separation on most NBA wings
- Will need to get more lean and agile to play a role
- Doesn’t finish well in the paint
