NBA Draft Spotlight: Deividas Sirvydis

Lithuanian guard Deividas Sirvydis may be the best international prospect that is not receiving a lot of attention. The sharpshooter has a lot more to offer than his outside stroke, and it may be the right time for the teenager to test the draft waters.

Position: SG From: Lithuania Class/YOB: 2000
Height: 6’8 Weight: 200 Wingspan: N/A

Strengths:

  • Smooth shooter with impressive touch. Has a one-motion shot that will stretch defenses. He can run off screens or use pick-and-rolls to find a look
  • Big guard at about 6’8. Plays well getting downhill to his left hand and using his size in the lane
  • Moves very well off the ball. Cuts and sets up actions to create more space when he catches the ball
  • Good pick-and-roll player. Has the ability to make basic reads and draw attention with his range. The more comfortable he gets operating off the dribble, the better off he will be in the NBA

Weaknesses:

  • Not a very advanced ball-handler. When driving left in a straight line, he’s tough, but he doesn’t like to go right and isn’t very shifty
  • Smart defender, but not overly impactful. Youth shows at times. Has to find a way to blend in on that end while he learns the ropes
  • Just an alright athlete. Not a great leaper and takes a while to get up to top speed. Does a nice job changing speeds with the ball in his hands. Finishing will be an issue in traffic
  • Still a very young player without a ton of experience. Body is far from developed and he looks like he might get a little taller
