NBA Draft Spotlight: Killian Tillie

Injuries took away most of Killian Tillie’s junior season, in a year he was expected to take another big step. Even in limited time, he is still worthy of a pick if he decides to enter.

Position: PF From: Gonzaga Class/YOB: Junior
Height: 6’10 Weight: 220 Wingspan: N/A

Strengths:

  • Good perimeter shooter who can step into shots from distance
  • Quick and active rebounder on both ends. Makes up for a lack of strength with high-level effort
  • Agility in the open court will be a big boost
  • Reliable defender who regularly blocks shots and gets deflections. Timing is impressive. Quickness should eventually allow for more guarding on the wings
  • Efficient scorer on the inside with very soft touch from close range
  • Smart interior passer

Weaknesses:

  • Has the body and strength of a wing but isn’t an adept ball-handler
  • Lateral quickness is not where it should be. Angles on hedges can be a problem, especially against quick guards
  • Injuries have restricted him and his frame is not one that projects to put on a lot of weight
  • Can be knocked off balance when making post moves
